Autumn Round Up...

Waving goodbye to the summer season, the cottage is now in full prep for Winter. Autumn is currently a rather wet affair with rain, both large and small falling weekly. The good news is there is always so much to do that doesn't involve getting wet you can visit anytime!

This weekend, for instance, we have The Chocolate Festival at Exeter Castle- yes, a festival celebrating all things chocolatey!!

Chocolate, not your thing (seriously? - why not??), well let me tempt you with the annual Artisan Market in Barnstaple on Sunday, 3rd November. Now in its second year, over a 100 contemporary artists and makers will be exhibiting and selling their work. It is a great place to see original work and buy some beautiful gifts too.

We are spoiled for choice here in Devon, and none of it involves getting wet! Obviously if getting wet is your 'thing' there is plenty outdoor activities which fit the bill - although I can not promise rain only beautiful countryside! Local to the cottage is Halsdon Nature Reserve , where you may spot an Otter or two. Or how about Eggesford Forest , absolutely stunning at this time of year?

Whatever you decide Higher Primrose Cottage is an all year round destination, and you would be most welcome to come and visit at any time. I'll leave you with a few pictures I took this morning in Eggesford Forest...
